What is four-way stretch fabric?

As the name suggests, four-way stretch fabric is a type of fabric that has elasticity in all directions—up, down, left, and right. This fabric can adapt to the movement of the human body, stretching and shrinking with it, providing a lightweight and comfortable wearing experience. At the same time, it maintains the aesthetic appearance of the clothing, preventing areas such as the knees and elbows from becoming deformed or bulging due to prolonged wear.

How is four-way stretch fabric made?
First, yarn and spandex covered yarn are twisted together to create elastic yarn. The feeding lengths of both materials need to be controlled separately to regulate the elasticity of the resulting yarn. Four-way stretch fabric is a fabric with bidirectional elasticity in both the warp and weft directions. Generally, its elastic elongation rate is between 10% and 15%, and the spandex content in the fabric is around 3%.
